...and what did I see?
About 2-3 inches of snow. All over. Even the road. Can I tell you how grateful I am that Chip doesn't have to go to work today? I sit and worry about him when he's gone on snowy days. We are supposed to go to his work party tonight, and I was really looking forward to it, but I may have to stay home.
Sis came down with a fever this morning. It was 100.9 and her poor cheeks are bright pink. She says her body hurts. When I told her about her fever she was devastated. We had just told her she was going to a Christmas party with Grandpa, and she began to cry when she thought she may not be able to go. I am hoping her little body will fight this off quickly. We're doing what we can to help her through it. She's relaxing and drinking a lot of water. We even had her get a blessing. I pray she will be healed tonight not only for her comfort, but so that she will understand that Heavenly Father loves her and cares about her wants. I hope she has the faith to be healed and that her testimony will be strengthened through this. Maybe I should go down and help her say a prayer that she wants to get better really quickly. I'm thinking, if she doesn't have any other symptoms, that I may just give her some meds and send her anyway. I don't want to get everyone else sick, but she has been so sweet about this whole situation all day. Any extra prayers from anyone reading would be appreciated.

Just start typing
Well, I've sat here for a good five minutes contemplating what I want to write about tonight. A lot of thoughts crossed my mind, and I figured I would just start typing and see what happened.
I went to church today, like I do every Sunday. It was very nice to be able to sit during the lessons and not have to worry about Buddy and what he was doing. You see, Buddy just started the class for children 18 months to 3 years a couple of weeks ago. Today, he had a blast playing with the toys in nursery and he seems to get along with the teachers really well. I do miss having a baby to snuggle through the lessons. It makes me sad to see that my baby is growing up into a little boy. I knew it would happen, but I didn't realize time would go so quickly.
In church we had a lesson on how music is a divine gift from God. I really believe that it is. There have been several times in my life where the lesson I needed to learn at that moment was through a hymn. For example, my great grandma died while I was a teenager. I didn't know how to feel about her death. I knew that she was really old, and I highly doubted she knew who I was while she was here. Still, I was sad that she wouldn't be around to visit anymore. While I was mourning her death, I heard the hymn "I Know That My Redeemer Lives." In this hymn, it says "He lives to silence all my fears. He lives to wipe away my tears. He lives to calm my troubled heart. He lives all blessings to impart." This part of the song really touched me. For the first time that I remember, I felt that Christ was aware that I was sad and that he knew I would miss my grandma. I didn't feel ashamed for feeling bad. I felt...understood! I guess that's the best word to describe it.
I have often been reminded of the divinity of music. I am so thankful that we have music in our lives. I'm thankful that I have the ability to play and teach music for others around me. As I've mentioned before, I've seen lives change in my little orchestra class and I believe that has happened through music. We are creative beings and music is a way for us to satisfy a need to create. What a blessing it is.
